Typhi) with relatively high prevalence in low- and middle-income countries, including Yemen. The World Health Organization recommends identifying local prevalence and gaps in knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) towards TF to implement preventive measures. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the knowledge, attitudes, and practices toward typhoid fever among students at the Amran University Institute of Continuing Education. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted among 121 students between December 2024 and May 2025. Demographic, transmission route, and behavioral data were collected using questionnaires through face-to-face interviews. Results: A total of 121 students were enrolled in this study. Most of the data were collected from students aged 21–40 years (49.6%) residing in urban areas (81.8%) who were single (79.3%), had a parent's university certificate (47.1%), were in their first year of the academic year (35.5%), and drank from trucks (42.1%). According to this finding, "TF can be transmitted by contact with humans" (mean = 2.52) had the highest score for knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding the disease's aetiology. The item with the highest score for knowledge of the symptoms was "Fever is a symptom of typhoid" (mean = 2.81). The item with the highest score in terms of disease preventive knowledge was "Insect and fly control" (mean = 2.85). Conclusion: Access to clean water, vaccination, and health education shapes university students' knowledge and practices regarding typhoid fever. Targeted interventions addressing these factors can help reduce the burden of typhoid fever in academic settings.
Ali Ahmed Al-Hadheq Talal Saeed Al-Wajeeh Mansour Abohatem Wadhah Hassan Edrees Wadee Abdullah Al-Shehariq Adel Nasser meftah Mohammed Alsebaeai Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2026-01-01 2026-01-01 5 10 10 10 10.59145/jaust.v5i10.139 Toxoplasma gondii Prevalence and Risk Factors Among Pregnant Women in Public Hospitals in Sana’a City, Yemen https://auy.edu.ye/index.php/jaust/article/view/140
Background: Toxoplasmosis is caused by the intracellular protozoan organism Toxoplasma gondii and is a widespread disease that can progress to a serious systemic disease (congenital disease). Since 2010, as institutions have been breaking down and the war worsened from 2015 to 2024, the situation has become even more complicated. It highlights how the judiciary has crumbled and how the authority in Yemen has fallen apart, especially between Sana'a and Aden. This situation undermines people's trust in the system and results in judicial appointments that get caught up in politics, especially when it comes to how the judiciary is led. Plus, the rules governing administrative laws are unclear, and there's a real lack of clear laws on administrative procedures and how to handle legal cases, which only makes things more confusing. This makes it really tough for judges to do their jobs properly when it comes to overseeing cases. Even though there are some model administrative courts set up in Sana'a and Aden by the Supreme Judicial Council, there are no specialized administrative courts in the other governorates. That lack just makes the whole situation more complicated and harder to manage across Yemen's legal system. One big concern with splitting up the leadership of the judiciary is that it could weaken the independence of the courts. There's also a risk that political interests might influence how judges are appointed, which can undermine fairness. Plus, the judiciary might not get the resources it needs to do its job properly. The study highlights how administrative courts can really help with peacebuilding and rebuilding public trust. When they deliver justice, hold authorities accountable, and make fair decisions, people feel more confident in the system. There are opportunities for reform, like creating a clear Code of Administrative Procedure, setting up first-instance administrative courts, and establishing levels of appeal. Improving the training for judges and judicial officers is also crucial. The study emphasizes that these reforms are urgent if the administrative courts are to effectively support the rule of law and help build lasting peace in Yemen after the conflict.

Ali Mansour Ali Aljarbani Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2026-01-01 2026-01-01 5 10 25 25 10.59145/jaust.v5i10.141
